Congress to prioritize teacher pay hike
The congress will prioritize measures seeking to increase the salaries of public school teachers, said House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano. Increasing teachers' salaries is now one of the primary things Congress is considering, he said in his Facebook Live video.
It is also in line with President Duterte's desire to raise the quality and secure the safe and comfortable life of teachers who are shaping not only students but the Filipino people.

The congress will prioritize measures seeking to increase the salaries of public school teachers, said House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano. Increasing teachers' salaries is now one of the primary things Congress is considering, he said in his Facebook Live video.
Speaker Cayetano also said that the minority and the majority are one in increasing the salaries and welfare of teachers, especially their monthly wage.
It is also in line with President Duterte's desire to raise the quality and secure the safe and comfortable life of teachers who are shaping not only students but the Filipino people.
Teachers are very close to the heart of President Duterte and House Speaker Cayetano. The President's mother was a former teacher and the House Speaker's parents, as well as his brother Mayor Lino Cayetano.
