Duterte certifies the necessity of immediate enactment of SSL 2019

President Rodrigo Duterte has certified the necessity of the immediate enactment of Senate Bill No. 1219 also known as Salary Standardization Law of 2019, as a measure providing for another round of salary increase for workers in the government service.


In a letter of President Duterte to Senate President Vicente Sotto III dated December 13, transmitted by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said: “I hereby certify to the necessity of the immediate enactment of Senate Bill No. 1219. ”

Here is the body of the said letter to the Senate President:

Pursuant to the provisions of Article VI, Section 26 (2) of the 1987 Constitution, I hereby certify to the necessity of the immediate enactment of Senate Bill No. 1219, entitled: 

"AN ACT MODIFYING THE SALARTY SCHEDULE  FOR CIVILIAN GOVERNMENT PERSONNEL AND AUTHORIZING THE GANT OF ADDITIONAL BENEFITS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES," 

to address the need to further invigorate public service with efficiency and productivity by providing all government civillian personnel a just and equitable compensation responsive to their economic needs.
