GSIS announces 3-month moratorium implementation on loans
The Chairman during an interview on DZRH News Television on Monday, April 6, 2020 announced that that those with loans from GSIS can expect some relief as the agency adopted a three-month-long payment holiday on loan amortizations.
"Yon iba ho nadeduct'an na sila ng kanilang mga sweldo. Ang gagawin namin po, iaadjust namin yan lahat, isosoli namin sa kanila yung mga naamortized sa kanila," he added.
This means that the last payment will be adjusted by three months. For example, if the loan is due in April 2024, the last payment will be made in July 2024.

Rolando Ledesma Macasaet, President and General Manager of Government Sevice Insurance System (GSIS) informed its members the implementation of the three-month moratorium on loan amortizations to help allay the anxiety of GSIS members and pensioners brought about by the #COVID19 crisis.
Macasaet explained that they will stop collecting amortizations for three months starting March, April and May.
"Hindi kami magkukulekta, magkakaroon kami ng moratorium for three months starting March, April, and May.," said macaraig.
The GSIS President also said that those who were deducted already will expect a full refund.
