The Department of Education (DepED) issued Memorandum DM-CI-2020-000 titled Clarification on the use of the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs).
The memorandum includes the assigned task of teachers when they will be starting to render services on June 1, 2020.
"Starting June 1, 2020, teachers shall be tasked to prepare weekly Learning Activity Sheets, participate in capacity building activities in managing multi-modal learning delivery options, assists in orienting parents on effective facilitation on home-based learning, prepare learners for the formal start of classes, and gather data on the specific contexts of their learners (access to technological gadgets, capacity of learners for independent learning, etc)," said memorandum.
The issuance also mentioned that the "task of preparing modules or self learning kits based on the contextualized Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) is expected to be carried out mainly by the supervisors, specialists, and selected master Teachers."
